However, it is always good to raise this with your social worker before you begin to determine her response. Most will be very open to working with single people but if not, it is best to find out early in the process. Re your second query, the two biggest differences are cost and case loads (while cheaper, state social workers often have huge case loads so the process may take longer). If this is a path that you choose to pursue, I wish you all of the best, it has certainly brought us lots of joy.

I would really love to adopt,but am a single woman, and a nurse which means shift work, I’m guessing that this would make things a bit more difficult. Also what is the difference between going through a state social worker and a private social worker?
