As part of their Project 100 Days series, Capturing Hopes Photography recorded the first few months of premature newborn, Walker Pruett.
The volunteer photographers record the first 100 days of babies in American neonatal intensive care units. Walker is the first baby whose transformation was captured.
Walker was born on the 25th of April at only 26 weeks gestation and weighed a mere 539 grams. While his parents could only hold him when he was five days old, he grew stronger everyday and eventually began breathing and feeding on his own. His NICU journey came to an end on day 80, when he was declared healthy enough to go home with his parents.
The time-lapse video follows Walker’s transformation from a tiny, premature newborn into a chubby (and healthy) three-month-old little boy.
The video is heartwarming and reminds us that miracles can (and do) happen.
